It’s truly a privilege to be able to celebrate and share in these amazing individual success stories following such a challenging time and to see so many, smiling and happy faces in school again. What is most important to remember is that each grade represents a culmination of years of effort, determination and hard work. I am sure many pupils and parents have been incredibly nervous about this year’s results, especially after all of the adverse national press around A Level grades and the recent changes made by the government, so it’s been wonderful to finally welcome our students back and to share in their great results.”

There were many truly outstanding individual performances across the board, but particular recognition goes to Chantelle Midgley, Sophie Bridle, Katie Cotton Melissa Hurcombe, Daniel Walton, Ben Round, Sam Burgin, Calvin Hart and Rebecca Rushton for exceptional performance across all of their subjects. Chantelle described how she was, ‘buzzing’ with her results and wanted to thank all of her teachers. Sophia added that she was, ‘very pleased’ with her results and was ‘looking forward to continuing to study in the Sixth Form’. She wanted to pass her ‘thanks to all of the amazing teachers that have helped me for the past five years’. Melissa also wanted to say how she was, ‘extremely pleased’ with her results and wished to thank her teachers for ‘motivating and pushing me so that I could achieve my best.’

Further special recognition goes to many students who have made outstanding progress across all of their subjects and especially Isabelle Pritchard, Shannon Riley, Lucy Lightfoot, Owen Radburn, Alicia Jenkins and Josh Burkinshaw, amongst many others.  Josh explained how thoroughly ‘proud and excited’ he was with his results and work. Isabelle added that she wanted to warmly, ‘thank all her teachers’ for the amazing support they had provided. Katie Cotton wished to add thanks to the teachers who had, ‘really helped me to get the best results that I could and to do the most with my time’

Glyn Langston-Jones, headteacher of Nether Stowe School, which is part of the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership (ATLP), concluded:

It is amazing and humbling to see the long-term hard work of so many students pay off with well-deserved and fair results. We had really high hopes for this year group and it is gratifying to know that their ability and endeavour has been recognised. As a member of the Arthur Terry Learning Parentship, we are incredibly proud that the school is continuing to go from strength to strength. As we grow and develop, we always remember that results are about the achievements of individual students and what this means to them. This is more important this year than in any other. Whilst we have successfully supported all pupils to make their chosen next steps, we are really looking forward to welcoming a record number back into the Sixth Form.  We wish everyone the very best of luck for a successful future.”
