Barbecue brings together ATLP trustees, advocates and business partners.
Business and community leaders, governors, advocates and trustees cooked up valuable new connections at Arthur Terry School last week, at a barbecue networking event.

The event marked the one-year anniversary of the ATLP Partner Programme, which brings together students, parents, businesses and alumni, with the aim of enhancing education throughout ATLP and providing networking opportunities for local businesspeople.

And it also provided a valuable opportunity to welcome and thank valued members, advocates, governors and trustees of ATLP, with around 20 attending the event.
Programme Manager Brian Davies welcomed four new businesses to the partnership – Easy Clean Contractors Ltd, George Green LLP, Meridian Integrated Systems Ltd and Aspire People – bringing the number of businesses involved in the partnership to 20.

He said: “It’s wonderful to hit 20 members in just a year of the partnership’s existence. We’ve had so much growth over the past year, and generated sponsorships of around £50,000 for various events.”
The Partner Programme enables members to forge connections and support the education community throughout the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership.
Through networking events like the barbeque and fundraising activities, it offers informal opportunities for professional growth and community engagement, while also raising funds for impactful educational projects.

Mr Davies said: “The goal of the Partner Programme is to facilitate business development, teamwork and educational opportunities, all while socialising and having a good time.”
Among the school events enabled by the programme are the annual trip to France which is offered to many ATLP schools, the ATLP Student Awards, and the Children’s University programme.
Mr Davies said: “There are various levels of wealth across the schools in our partnership, and we want these children to have equal opportunities no matter where they’re from.”

There are also engaging events around the year for Partner Programme members, with upcoming events including Golf Day at Aston Wood in September, a business lunch at Moor Hall Hotel in November, and the Retro Games.

Mr Davies said: “We have partners in many sectors, including law, wealth management, video production, graphic design, education, floristry, sports and leisure. There’s remarkable variety among our members – and there is always room for more businesses to join!”
